How can we include providers that are not in the QASSGN?
Problem
A provider is not in the QASSGN (quarterly attribution files) but it would be preferred to include this provider in patient attribution. What should be done?
Solution
Providers may be added manually using the TIN/NPI Management tool. The provider's NPI must be associated with a TIN, and once this is configured you will receive a warning message about this combination. However, the warning message will not stop the TIN/NPI import, and patients may still be manually assigned to this TIN/NPI as long as it is available for attribution. The algorithm, however, will never associate patients with this specific TIN/NPI.
